He Lives!!

I've just been reading some blogs by a few of my loved ones... and feeling very grateful for the people that I have in my life. I love my family... I love my friends. I want ALL who read this to know that "YOU" are an important part of my life... "YOU" matter to me... and I thank my Heavenly Father for each one of you!

I know someone who made a comment online about how convenient it was that we couldn't ask God if he/she supported or agreed with certain issues that we face today in society. This person had previously served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and it made me sad to read how this friend of mine referred to God as if He could possibly be a she... and that we had no way of communicating with Him. I felt that I NEEDED to make a comment regarding this statement (very respectfully, of course) to remind them that we DO have a means of communicating with God... and did they forget about prayer? Sometimes... I must admit that I don't have the confidence that I wish I had as far as making "statements" or "comments" or having an "opinion" about things, because I'm afraid of how people might react. As I debated, at first, with whether or not I should make a comment... I remembered my patriarchal blessing.

I KNOW that part of my calling here on this earth is to TESTIFY of the existence of our loving HEAVENLY FATHER. To testify that we are His children and that He loves us. I KNOW that He is real. I felt that it was important to tell this friend what I knew to be true, even if it caused some heat between us, and possibly others. It's sad to me when our brothers and sisters forget who they are. We are ALL children of God. I too have lost my way from time to time... but feel very blessed that I've never forgotten who I was or that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and an elder brother Jesus Christ who lived AND died for me. I love Him. He loves me. I'm feeling very grateful for this knowledge. It brings me peace... especially when life gets to be too much to bear. I hope and pray that as you read this... if nothing else, you'll get from this that I have a testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ and in my Heavenly Father. People are imperfect, but the LOVE our Heavenly Father has for His people IS perfect. May we learn to love ourselves AND others as He loves us!
