My Greatest Achievements - Lucas and Sam

It's been a while since I last posted, but in my defense... I warned you all that these posts may be few and far between. Having that said... I would like to let you know a bit about my "Greatest Achievements". They're names are "LUCAS" and "SAM". Lucas is loving 1st Grade and his teacher recently told me at Parent Teacher Conferences that he is excelling in school. His reading and math levels are above average for his grade and she was quite impressed with his handwriting as well. I am too. Last year in kindergarten he received a report card that stated he need to work on his handwriting, so we did.... and now it's paid off. He LOVES learning and comes home with a new song that he's learned about twice a week. He's also an incredible friend. He's kind, loving, thoughtful, caring, imaginative, creative, energetic... (I could go on, you get the idea). I am so privileged to call myself his mother. Lucas is truly a "bringer of light"!

Sam has got to be the coolest little "almost two" year old around. He loves music and can ALWAYS be found dancing to whatever music happens to be playing at the time. He's learning new words everyday and can often be found playing a game of "do-as-I-do" with Big Brother... not always a good thing. His smiles brightens ANYONE'S day and he's always there to comfort you if you're having a hard day. He's very sensitive, energetic, caring, smiley, loves books and being sung to. He definitely know what he wants and what he doesn't want and he lets you know it. It's almost "scary" how much he understands. You ask him a question... any Yes or No question, and he know exactly how to answer. It's pretty cool actually. He's also started being VERY aware of the whole diaper, pee pee, poo poo thing. He lets me know every time that I need to change him and actually gets the diaper for me. He's even gone pee pee on the potty... the training potty AND the big potty, just like big brother. He knows just what to do too. It's so cute because he's still so little. Some of his new words include:

Please............ Peas? (as if asking a question)
Thank you...... Tchoo choo
Cheers........... Chee-oose (as he lifts his cup to you)
Pumpkin......... Pu-ppy (doesn't know that this is an animal)
More.............. MO
Potty............. Paw-ee
Milk................ Miao
Water............ Wa wa
Mommy ......... Mama & MOM
Daddy............ Dada & DAD
Aunt Rachel... Ro Ro
Kiss................. Tiss
Hat................. Hat (right on!)
Blanket........... Bankie
Baby................ Baby (this also refers to any small stuffed animal)
Book................ Boo

Anywho... just a little BRAGfest... sorry, can't help it. If only all of you out there could partake of their essence and goodness.

What's up with me? I'll tell ya...

So, I'm sitting here thinking that I haven't done a whole lot with my blog, so I decided I'd add a little more to it today. As most of you know, Lynn's doing some work out of town and I've been doing the single mother thing for a few weeks now... Never thought I'd be here, but there you have it. I'm missing my hubby terribly, but know he's working hard for our family, so I must do the same in his absence. I'm trying to start a business and am going to be getting licensed to write up Mortgages and Life Ins. Policies, among other things, so if any of you out there are interested in receiving some information on "Finding Financial Freedom", let me know. Either that or I may be calling you for a training session. I've just decided (yeah...it's taken me this long) that we should no longer be working soooo hard for our money, but that our money should be working hard for us, so I'm doing something about it. Anyone interested in joining the ride? I'd love some company.

Ya Gotta Start Somewhere...

This is my first official post for our new blog, and to be quite honest... I'm not really sure at all what I'm doing. I've been asked by a number of people (no one more than you Jessie) to start a blog, so here goes. Lynn, Lucas, Sam & I are currently living in Lehi, Utah just north of Utah Lake and right off of the Jordan River. It's beautiful out here. We live right on a small lake (natural grasslands) and enjoy the view immensely. ***The mosquitoes I could live without though. Next month we will have been in our house for a year... I can't believe it's already been that long.

Landscaping is our biggest challenge right now (or I should say Lynn's biggest challenge). I have helped some with the actual labor, but to be fair, it's hard to dig trenches when you have a 1 year old filling them right back up behind you, so I have stayed away and kept the kids inside while Daddy dug the trenches. He's done a fabulous job and we're just about ready for grass!! Woo woo!!

Lynn has also been his own boss, (something he's always wanted) with his electrical business. It's called A&H Electric, Inc. (shameless plug). Anyone needing electrical work done... he's your man. I'm very proud of him. He's amazing!! I'm not biased at all, am I?

The most joyous part of our lives however, HAS to be our BOYS. They're so cool. Lucas turns "6" today, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! and Sam will be 2 on Christmas Day. Man, they're growing up fast. Lucas starts 1st grade this year and he's so excited. He LOVED Kindergarten last year... especially his teacher Mrs. Ellsworth. She is the best teacher ever. He also made plenty of friends including quite a few girls. I don't think I'm ready for that yet. (yikes!) He is pretty darn near amazing on Guitar Hero though and decided that he wants to learn to play the real guitar, which makes Daddy happy since he's a guitar player himself. Sam is the most incredible bringer of joy... He is Lynn's "Mini Me" to a "T" and such a Papa's boy! He lights up like no other when Lynn walks in the room. It's the cutest thing. I can't say it enough... we are truly blessed in the children department!!!

As for me, I have been keeping busy with the kids (of course) and have also started walking 2-2 1/2 miles a day, 5 days a week. Can you believe it?! I can't. I never thought I'd ever be able to, but I've really enjoyed getting out with the boys and my good friend Heather. She also has two boys just about the same age as ours. I also had the incredible opportunity to attend an LDS Music Industry workshop last month. It was so cool and extremely informative. Those who know me well, know of my love and desire to sing. I was able to figure out more of what I would like to do with my singing. I was also able to go into June Audio (recording studio) and record a demo of a song that will be coming out on a youth CD next year. It was part of a contest that over 160 women were a part of. We each recorded the same song and them the winner was picked from one of us. I was not really in it to win it, per say, I just really wanted the experience. Maybe if I can figure out how to put a song on here, I'll put on the song that I recorded. It was AWESOME!

Well, it's almost 4:30 in the morning and I've got a long fun-filled Birthday ahead of me so I'd better end this 1st entry. Fair warning!!! Our internet service is extremely temper mental, so my entries may be few and far between. I'll do what I can.
